Discover Historic Buffalo Mission Statement

Discover Historic Buffalo is comprised of a group of individuals and business that pool their resources together in order to promote Buffalo as a great place to live and a great place to visit. To this end we recognize that revitalizing the heart of small town, rural communities like ours will keep our community strong and prosperous. Moreover, our community’s rich heritage is what traveler’s nationwide are looking for -- they want the real, authentic and the original. And back-road America is where the original values and true, frontier spirit of our country still exist today.

We know the traveler does not find this kind of spirit along monotonous interstates, but rather along the main streets of small communities such as ours. Buffalo has this spirit and we want to share it. To this end Discover Historic Buffalo helps promote community spirit and activities that are culturally linked to this area, the revitalization of downtown Buffalo’s historic district, active support of the Jim Gatchell Museum of the West, the Museum of the Occidental Hotel, and we actively encourage tourists to discover Buffalo through regional advertising efforts.

Right to attend, vote and join DHB action committees and meetings;
Listing in the Discover Historic Buffalo brochure that is distributed locally and in regional interstate rest stops each spring, which includes up to two category listings of your company or organization (along with telephone numbers, addresses – published in mid-March);
As many DHB brochures as you need to display in your business or organization;
Free listing and link to your email or web-site from the membership services directory on the DHB Web site (initial links only – any changes will incur a $3 fee);
Right to advertise on the DHB web site in areas specified for that purpose (for an additional fee);
Advantageous membership prices for web and hosting services as a member of DHB through their Web hosting provider.
